The pain is gone, the hope arisen.
Welcome to a new world – the Challenge League.
The most important transfers: Gone: Davide Calla (Grasshoppers^^) Marc Schneider (BSC Young Boys) Francisco Aguirre (?), Marcos Gelabert (Basel), Jürgen Gjasula (Basel), Adrian Fernandez (?)
New: Moreno Merenda (Xamax), Adrian Winter (He’s top! Wil), Sebastian Kollar (Zurich), Marco Hämmerli (Wil), Lukas Schenkel (Wil)
New coach: Uli Forte (34) was in Wil before and he’s a great coach in my opinion.
You know: FC Wil and FC Gossau, the two east Swiss (Ostschweiz) teams are connected to FCSG in meaning of changing players and money. All good players of Gossau and Wil once land in FCSG. And our substitutes get practice in Wil and Gossau. Instead – for their players – they get the money from us. Now we even changed the coach. The problem is, that we are all in the same league now and working together becomes difficult. But it doesn’t matter, we have enough transfers now (we have taken a few players of Wil^^)
Tests: FC Diepoldsau – FCSG 0:5
FCSG – FC Lustenau 2:0
FCSG – FC Vaduz 0:1
FC Winterthur – FCSG 3:1
FCSG – Bayer Leverkusen (with Barnetta) 3:2
FCSG – FC Augsburg 2:0
FCSG – SV Werder Bremen 0:4
First Season Game: FCSG – Concordia Basel 2:0
There were more supporters than in every other game of the league TOGETHER. That means we had about 10 000 or 11 000 supporters and all others together about 7-8 000. Yes, I know. 10 000 is nothing for you. But for this league, just the second league of Switzerland, it’s great.
And there is a nice story to tell: In the 84th minute, Moreno Costanzo shot the second goal. And then his picture appeared on the screen and the speaker said something like “The goal shot byyyy……Moreno!” And like always they screamed the name of the scorer…….but because Moreno Merenda is a figure everyone knows here and Moreno Costanzo isn’t, everone screamed “MERENDA!” instead of Costanzo. That’s hard for him:P:P:P
On the 28th July then, I was in the new stadium the first time by watching the test against Werder Bremen. I always played with the idea to change my SG-scarf against a Bremen-scarf^^ But in the end, I thought, I will go to Bremen once, buy a scarf and support them, when SG isn’t playing:P Strangely SG let play just one person who played in the first season game. (“We wanted to give the others the necessary practice”). And Bremen played with everyone but Diego (Without permission he went to Olympia) and Per Mertesacker (injured). Thorsten Frings played! I love this guy. And Wiese, Sanogo, Fritz, just everyone, you know^^. But now to the stadium: Yes, in comparison to the Espenmoos, the AFG-Arena (Shit name! But the fans call it: Alles für Geld-Arena, All for Money) is a real dream. When you come in, it’s all green. I could immediately identify with my club. Well done, really!
And the atmosphere is perfect. 90 minutes top supporting, although it was a test and our team was losing 0:4. You don’t see that often in our circles, whatever that might mean^^. SG has great fans, every other team knows that. And every keeper of another team doesn’t like us =) Especially Zubi should hate us. Great! We hate him, too! Although I still find shouting Benaglio when Zubi plays is a bit too hard:P
Perhaps you have read out that I’m not just impressed by the new stadium. My green-white heart is resuscitated. No, more than that! I’ve been missing the stadium since I went out of it. I want to be there all the time…:P (You can’t understand it because your stadium is better and greater and everything, but my old stadium Espenmoos was so tiny and old…)
Well! That was my first statement. Let’s see where the way goes.
Greeeeeeeeeeetzz Pulga
